In October 2015 the local branch of the Property Institute of New Zealand undertook the pedestrian count in Napier, Hastings, Taradale and Havelock North. These results were released earlier this year and proved interesting when compared with 2013 results. Data was collected from 28 locations in Napier, 18 locations in Hastings, 12 locations in Havelock North and 4 locations in Taradale. The survey was done over a spread of morning, afternoon and weekend hours to encapsulate a true picture. These results provide a great snapshot of our city’s busiest and quietest areas and are just one of the many tools TelferYoung use within their valuation process.
+ Napier showed an overall increase of 12% from 2013. Areas with the biggest changes were linked to construction and development or shop vacancies
+ Hastings showed a 2% increase with little change in the top 5 locations from the 2013 survey.
+ Havelock North saw a huge 19% increase over the 12 locations
+ Taradale showed a 7% decrease
